    Thanks to Mike Smith for the solution to this one. You need to move to the folder where the application resides (along with the associated sound files), making it the current folder, before running the application. Andrew

    By running it "straight", I mean clicking on the application itself, or clicking a shortcut to the application. Either of these gives you sound. But if you use the Run method in VBScript, the application runs without sound. Andrew Barefoot Boy
