Thanks.
I haven't heard anyone say anything good about the T7406, especially for the price, so I haven't used one yet. And if the generic portable is run over by a truck, they can run to Best Buy and plug in another one immediately.
I've also decided that I can't really make the portable the...
Thanks for the suggestions.
1. Using the ATA as the emergency call DN would definitely work for a single portable. If I needed more portables, however, I'd run into the Answer DN problem on the portable that was on a new DN. I'll set it up this way for now and worry about it if I need to add...
Learned Norstar Scholars:
I'm looking to make the use of a generic portable analog telephone on an ATA as easy to use as possible. I'd like some advice.
This location has only three incoming CO lines. These lines appear on all sets, but only ring on a few selected sets in key locations...
And for those of you doing this at home who'd like more details...
There wasn't enough power from the sound card to provide good quality audio. Too much background hiss when you boost the volumes at the phones. I dropped in a 30-watt preamp with a built-in parametric EQ, and now things sound...
No, I found no solution. I put in a 480w power supply in case it was power issues, but that didn't help. I gave up on 0+1, made two raid 0 sets, one on the Intel controller and one on the Sil controller, and mirror them manually. I got tired of rebuilding the array.
Thanks.
I found a nice description of the pros/cons of different types of isolation transformers. I'll build one, put it on, and let you know how it sounds.

Has anyone solved this before?
I dropped an old Pentium in my closet next to the 8x24 to be a music server for music on hold, replacing a Denon receiver. When I connected the PC to the MOH inputs, I received no sound.
I tested the output of the PC through headphones and through the Denon...

Thanks for your response. However:
SNMP, of course, has no passwords, just communities. The default reset of the WAP11 leaves them blank. Using the USB port I reset Public to read, and Private to read/write. That's the only way I could get into the SNMP utility. However, it still wouldn't...
Some additional information:
Client is Windows XP SP1 with wireless patch on a Realtek RTL8180
Single Linksys WAP11 version 1 access point firmware version 1.4i.1
Also on network is wired router Linksys BEFSX41 firmware 1.44.11t
Now with double the redundancy!
This is cross-posted from BroadbandReports.com as no solution has been posted there.
I'm using a Linksys WAP11 Version 1, with the firmware upgraded to 1.4i.1. All I want to do is enable MAC filtering.
Symptom #1: I can't log into SNMP after a reset until I put in new passwords using the USB...
