The path is an editable vector and can be seperated from the bitmap. Draw's object properites define it as a bitmap however and it says it's an invalid object for a Powerclip. It was a good idea though.

I've added a clipping path to an image in PhotoPaint and exported as an EPS file.
This EPS file was then imported into Draw using the postscript interpreted filter. The clipping path is retained. I've further edited the clipping path in Draw because it's easier to make subtle changes there...
