    you can use a http or porxy to protect youe self it can hide your ip .

    if you disable the frist card ,how could others connect internet. you can do it like that the frist use the private IP and the secend use the DHCP with shelled connect to internet

    re-install system frist.did you change motherboard whitout re-install system ? or you can check the harddisk on the secondary IDE channel too see if ide 2 work.
