She does have required version of Acrobat to open the PDf. No I did not preflight the INDD file. Should I? I did not stuff or ZIP the file, I just attached it to the email and pressed send. Any other ideas?

You assumed correctly. And yes the regular key commands like command C for copy and others work just fine. It's just these 2 in particular. I just quite, trashed and reinstalled and it worked!!!! YEY. Appreciate your help!

Firstly, I am on OSX and on a mac. I already trashed the preferences and relaunched both applications and it still does not work. I will try your other suggestions of quiting retrashing and then reinstalling. If you have any other suggestions, let me know. Thanks again!
