    Powerpoint File Won't Open

    I did try to open it on another machine, but with same result. Other projects will open on the machines. I also tried File/Open, but has same error. Also, tried all the tricks on the faq, but to no avail. Oh well, we will trudge along. Thanks for the help, caroline

    I checked the device manager. Everything is working fine - there are no conflicts. I also checked the control panel/multimedia - the Playback is set to SB WaveOut(220). The midi is set to Single Instrument - Creative Music Synth(220). I tried changing the midi to one of the others in the list...

    sound won't play wav but will play midi

    I have a Win98 machine that will not play wav files in any program. I can't even get the volume control to "ding". However, it will play midi files just great. I have reinstalled the sound card twice, I'm stuck.
