I would do a search on google for mp3 converters you may end up finding a converter that converts aac files to mp3
I would think that there are many converters out there.
In my opinion, I would install WIN XP PRO on the laptop, if it new enough to do so. I feel that doing this would get rid of alot of the problems you are having!!!!!
to my understanding with XP home, you can't network the computer that is running it.
I would look getting a 2nd drive - a Larger hard drive, to have only 23 GB for storage, is not enough storage for 2 users on the PC.
I have seen at best buy computer stores where you can get a 250 GB hard drive for $99.00 - that's cheap!!!
I have a Pc running win xp home and need to have the hard drive wiped CLEAN, I have removed the primary partition and created a new partition then formatted the drive afterwards.
I thought about running debug or something along that level of getting the hard drive wiped CLEAN!!!!!!
