    Thanks for the reply. Am going to have to get a replacement chassis and build it. There is no display at all(i.e pretty much dead) when new flash is inserted, so cannot boot into rommon and issue a tftpdnld... Cheers.

    Happy New Year to you all. Ive been using ctrl-shift-x and 6 to stop a traceroute , when it cannot get to the remote destination, but this very rarely seems to work. Is there a definate way of stopping traceroues on ciscos? Many thanks
