As I stated originally, there was absolutely NO indication in the event viewer and it had gone on too long for system restore (my fault).
I ended up just starting from scratch and reloading the system so I never did find out what it was?
Unless I am doing it wrong, this method only works if you know what program is causing the issue...otherwise you have to do them ALL? I have no indication as to what program is causing this to trigger
I keep getting windows installer running for a few minutes several times a day. There is no indication as to WHAT program is running so I cannot use the windows installer cleanup utility...or I don't know how to use it properly???

I need a quick program that will select from record x to record y from an existing query and export the result as a text file.

Strange that when loading the software it asks for an administrator password AND a user name/password, yet only the user appears in the user list? Where is the "Administrator" account?

I have a vb6 program that uses an access 2000 database.
Every week i like to compact the database from access, but i keep getting the message "database is open by user xxxx" or something like that, even though no other systems are even turned ON?
