Thanks for your suggestions, Yizhar ... but do I need to point out (to Symantec, if by any chance they read these) how totally unreasonable they are?
#1 requires that I spend hours partitioning, formatting, installing ... #2 requires that I spend another $50 to get this $50 software to work...
My story:
- I dual boot Win98 (C:) and Win2K Pro (D:);
- I suspect my D: drive is infected;
- I buy NAV2002 (System Works);
- I try to install;
- Dialog appears, tells me not to install yet if I suspect I'm infected, but to boot from the CD & run NAVDX;
- I reboot from the CD & run NAVDX...
I just bought SystemWorks 2002, installed on my Win2K Pro machine & ran a "Full scan." When I got up this morning, the Norton Antivirus:Status:Full System Scan line says "Not completed" in big red letters - but does not (as far as I can find) tell me why or suggest a course...
