We have a new server with Windows Server 2003 installed. Attempting to install more software, it appears our CD-ROM drive does not read any disks when put into the tray. The drivers are up-to-date and the name appears under the hardware list (PBDS CD-ROM DH-48N1P).

We're not sure, we haven't tried a D to C copy/paste. He was able to move the original files on D: to a flash drive to back them up while we monkey around with the problem.
Yes, that's exactly what he was doing and the error persisted. We may have narrowed it down to some inconsitancy or corruption with his file system table(s). He's looking into that atm. Any other insight's would be awesome (:
I thought so too at first, but he mentioned an example of moving some photo files from one folder on the suspect drive (D:) to a subfolder on the save drive (D:). He says that is when the error occurs and all the files end up 0KB and unusable.
