On another machine I had to grant read acces to the local service on this registry key:
"HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\control\Secure\SecurePipeServer\winreg". For remote perfmon to work.
I think I've solved this by adding "local service" to access list and granting it "read" access to the following key in the registry:
"hklm\software\microsoft\windows nt\currenversion\Perflib"
After doing that I could connect to these computetrs using perfmon.
Hello,
I have a problem with connecting to some w2k3 servers using perfmon, I get an error message saying "unable to connect to machine". For example:

When I connect to webmail I get skript errors when trying to create new mails, forward mails or click the alternative button. The inbox shows fine but when I click on any of these buttons the errors appear and the window freezes.
I downloaded firefox and it worked just fine.

I got to work early this morning and ran a full backup followed by a transaktion log backup. After that I tried shrinking the database again and it worked, reducing the log file with 12gb.
So it seams that I should do the db maintenance on off-hours.
Thanks for all tips.
I have a log file that is using up all the space on disk where it resides, so i would like to shrink it but no matter how hard I try I can't get it to work. Here's what I've done.

* Performed a Transaction log backup

I've tried both from 2k and 2k3 but it still fails.
I can however run a WMI script from a remote server querying it for Formatted Performance data ex (Win32_PerfFormattedData_PerfProc_Process). Which is the same counters perfmon uses. So I can get the information thru WMI but not directly from...
A server was recently upgraded from win2k to win2k3 and after that you can't connect to it from performance monitor from a remote machine. An error message shows up saying "unable to connect to machine".

When I tried to change to Date time I got an conversion error, probably because the coulumns contain char's like this "Jan 15 200". Maybe that should be fixed first.
Is there a script/command I could run that would replace All occurences or "Jan 15 200" With "2008-01-15"?
The script inserts "YYYY-MM-DD" (with no time stamp) into the date coulumn. When it was configured with date time the result was "YYYY-MM-DD 00:00:00" and I just wanted the Date, not the time.
Hello,
I have an inventory script running metering active connections on our citrix servers. This script inserts its data into a table with a date and time stamp of the current metering. The date column was set to data type 'date time' resulting in the date being presented in the following...
