another add on note to allow the ping and remote desktop without uninstalling cisco vpn you can just change the service for cisco to manual. I did this after reinstalling cisco and then i was able to ping the laptop if the service was not running.
To reply to the march 5th reply at 10:40 the issue(s) that where causing me to not be able to connect to the laptop were caused by either norton internet security or cisco vpn to resolve I uninstalled both of these programs
How do you configure exchange 2003 to recieve POP3 mail without the connector for POP3? We have exchange 2003 standard which does not come with POP3 connector. Thank you all in advance.

In exchange in the connectors for POP3 you can select the user you want the mail to go to. I just selected my user instead.

original setup PC A1 connected ouside interface of PIX
PC B1 inside of pix
A1 VPN ok to pix could not access B1
switched it
B1 ouside, A1 inside
B1 VPN ok to firewall
B1 could access A1
So the problem lies with B1 I will try to figure it out. It is not the windows firewall...

Ok I changed the access-list from any to 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 and I still can't access the PC behind the firewall when connected through VPN. Is there a VPNgroup command to allow passthrough from external to internal. Or do I need to route the packets back correctly or something?
OK well I changed that and updated the access lists and some of the crypto and sysopt. But I still can't ping or remote dektop to anything behind the firewall. I can VPN just fine but nothing else. Here is the updated config

I tried the PDM and don't understand enough to be able to do it. I can use the PDM if that is easier but need to know what to configure and all. I would like to be able to have multiple users, and have them use the CISCO vpn dialer software. If that is possible. Thanks for your help.

Just got a PIX 501 from a coworker who was only every able to change the password. I can get to the CLI and getinto monitor mode and tried to tftp the flash but was unsuccessful. Can someone tell me how to reset the passwords so I can go configure it. Thanks for your help.
