Sounds like the Linksys WRT54Does the Linksys WRT54G need to be flashed to be able to support dd-wrt? From your link of supported devices it appears it doesnt need to be. The only field under "Notes for running DD-WRT" says VXWorks killer. I would much rather not flash if I dont have to. Thanks.
Your assumption is correct. I DO want to restrict it based on time of day. I will go over some of the links and if it is OK I might have some more questions. Thanks.
Want to have small wireless hub for people to connect to. After a certain time of day, is it possible to restrict access after a certain time of day. What special equipment would that require?? I have an idea of what I need to do. I just want to make sure I take every aspect into account...

I say both of you because it was indeed a firewall issue as linney stated initially & smah had a link to micorsoft stating to check router firewalls. So in this specific instance it was a indeed firewall issue within the router. As far as the Vista was concerned, once I installed the Network...

I have new Vista workstation. My HP750c+ Designjet plotter was working perefectly with XP before. Since new Vista workstation didnt have a parallel port I bought a Linksys Printserver 10/100 (model PPSX1 ver2) for prallel printers.
From Parallel cable goes from HP750c+ to Linksys printserver...
Let me start off by saying I Hate Vista.
Now, all I did was turn media sharing on and now Vista can see all the computers. However XP machines cant see Vista.
Event viewer actually shows no visible clues.
Have Linksys router with (2) hardwired connections (XP and Windows 2000). (1) XP wireless connection, (1) Vista wireless connection to router. All (4) machines have connection to printer and internet. XP & Win2k can see each other but cant See Vista machine and vice versa.

I feel stupid. I neglected to state that I did indeed try sfc /scannow & scanonce.
I am trying some of the tests linney suggested tonight. Thanks. I will keep informed.
Tried the firewall options, since both machines have srvice pack 2 installed. They are both off. Stupid question. Where is the option for file/ printer sharing?
