Hi,
Some of our laptop clients are going to have to authenticate to our domain across a firewall. At the moment only DNS and Citrix ICA traffic is allowed. I have to open additional ports so the clients can authenticate to the domain. After some research I have come up with the following ports...
Hi,
We have a three node Exchange Server 2003 SP1 cluster running on Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition with SP2. The cluster is in an active/active/passive setup with two EVS'es: EX001 and EX002. Symantec Mail Security for MS Exchange 5.0 is also running on the cluster.
EVS EX002 is...
...and a Pervasive 9.5 transactional database (hosted on the other node).
We are looking to upgrade these nodes to service pack 2.
The cluster is *very* mission critical so I need a good and a very fast rollback scenario. Of course the logical choice would be to transfer all resources to one...
I think I've found a workaround for this. If I select my scopes individually and select 'remove from superscope', the superscope reappears when I restart the DHCP service but if I select the superscope itself and delete it, the superscopes stays deleted.

I'm having the exact same problem. I installed DHCP on a testserver, created two scopes and placed them in a superscope. I then removed them from the superscope but when I restart the DHCP service, the superscope reappears!! Very strange indeed...

Hi,
We would like to change the default archive location for all our Outlook 2003 users. I've edited our PRF file according to this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836755/en-us
The problem is that when I set OverwriteProfile=Yes, all the settings are deleted (reading pane location...
Hello,
I am fairly new to SAN environments so forgive me for possibly asking for the obvious:
We have an EVA4000 SAN with HSV200 controllers, Cisco MDS 9020 fabric switches, a MSL6030 tape library and class-c blades in a c7000 enclosure. We are using Backup Exec 11d to perform backups of our...
Hi,
I need to migrate a collection of public folders (approx. 1.5Gb) to a new Exchange 2003 server. The new server is located across the WAN (1mbit connection). Is the PFMigrate tool the best way to go???
Thanks,

Hi,
I have to migrate/consolidate 8 branch office Exchange 2003 servers to a 'new' Exchange 2003 server. All servers are in the same domain and Exchange organization so the Move Mailbox Wizard looks like to right tool for the job.
The problem is that I have no idea what version of Outlook is...
Hi,
We are trying to phase out the version 2 NT4.0 printer drivers running in kernel mode on our Windows Server 2003 Printservers.
I have checked the Drivers tab on the Print Server Properties dialogue and can see a number of Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000/XP/2003 and Windows 95/98/ME drivers...
Hi,
I need to generate a list of the user accounts that are member of the local Administrators group.
I do not want to see any groups in the result, but I want the script to enumerate every group it encounters and list the user accounts in these groups (recursive).
I seem to remember that I...
Hi,
We have a large SAN box (a HP XP12000) in our datacenter which provides SAN storage to numerous blade servers running various editions of Windows 2000 Server. On a couple of them we are experiencing a lot of Event ID 51 messages in the event viewer:
Type: Warning Event ID: 51
User: N/A...
Hi,
I need to disable dynamic DNS for the nics in our backend and deployment VLANS using a script. On my Windows 2003 machines I can use NETSH:
netsh interface ip set dns name="<nic name>" source=static addr=none register=NONE
To my surprise the Windows 2000 version of NETSH does not support...
Too bad ePo can't do this by itself. I'd say scheduling a periodic compliance check is a pretty basic feature and should be included in this 'enterprise' tool.
We are trying to offshore some very basic daily maintenance tasks to India and we're trying to make it as easy as possibly for our...
Hi,
I am a newbie with ePo and on of our clients would like to see a daily report of non-compliant machines (ie DAT files and/or Engine out of date or no protection at all). I can create this report on the fly using the Reporting part of ePo but is it possible to schedule the creation of the...
Hi,
Our users get drive R:\ mapped to a share located on a W2K3 Cluster. Since a couple of days the Windows Search function doesn't work any more. It returns a 'no results' message almost immediately.
- The users have the correct NTFS permissions
- Several users on several Windows XP machines...
I did some checking on my clients network and computer browsing is a complete mess :-(
They did nothing to control browser elections and it is completely random. In a large environment as this (multiple sites, multiple domains, over 30.000 computers) that is not good...
Using browstat and...
Hi,
I am trying to do a remote backup of a Windows Server 2003 R2 machine using Backup Exec 8.6 (running on Windows 20000 Server SP4). The remote agent of Bexec seems to use the computer browser list (machines appearing in My Network Places\Entire Network\Microsoft Windows Network) but the W2K3...
