I have to keep on typing in the following command when I logoto a UNIX telnet session:
TERM=vt100 and sometimes setenv TERM vt100 for Oracle.

Thanks for replying back, but I have already checked the output of df and df -k. Space is not a problem, it could be that we are using sendmail for internet mail's. If it cannot find a return address back, then it fails. That is my guess, but need someone with more indepth...
