My queue was full of SPAM in ESM the other day. I was tired of deleting mail one domain at a time so I got the bright idea of deleting them from the queue directory.
Now I've noticed these messages seem to still appear in ESM; but at the same time they're not there.
Let me explain: If I click...
Have you added an MX record on your DNS server that is authoritative for your domain name?
If you've only created an MX record for your internal DNS then that could be your problem; unless your internal DNS server is your public DNS server as well.
In Exchange System Manager, expand Servers > your exchange server > Protocols > HTTP. Go to the properties of your Exchange virtual server and click Modify on the General tab. There you will see a list of SMTP domains.
I migrated from IMail to Exchange 2003 a year ago, and would also like to implement RPC over HTTP. You posed a great question Yipster; I'm looking forward to someone answering this one.
Hi sibbir,
I believe the Display Name on the Exchange General tab will do this for you. The Offline Address List may need to be updated before seeing the changes.
TerrifikMike,
In order to help you we need more information. What type of VPN are you using? How many licenses do you have? What is the exact error message?

It seems we found the source of the problem. The user travelled this week and was had no trouble uploading/deleting files from this other location. We are now pointing fingers at his home router/firewall.
Thanks for your help.
David,
Thanks for the info. I'm using both Basic and Integrated Windows Authentication. I have other users that are not having trouble so I know it's not an IIS setting.
The user is trying to upload a MS Word document with one word in the body.
He's not receiving any errors messages other...
Thomas2000,
I was able to successfully login to Sharepoint as the problem user from another computer and upload/create/delete files and folders. So the problem is definitely his computer. I just don't know what is causing it. I want to say it's his Norton but he we tried it w/ it disabled and...
I agree with you in that it sounds like a communication problem if security is okay.
The user has either a DSL or a cable connection coming from the east coast and I'm in California. The document he's trying to upload is a word doc with only the word "test" inside.
I haven't tested his...
I am using Windows Sharepoint Services as the intranet for my company. I have several remote users logging in via VPN and one particular user is unable to upload documents. He can create a folder but not delete it too. I removed and re-added his account and it did nothing. He belongs to the...
My experience with Cisco is very limited and I've never used any of thier VPN products.
Can you use DHCP via VPN with the Cisco VPN 3005?
I want users to get an IP address on the network and use internal DNS.
Is the VPN client user friendly and dummy proof for non-techy users in a Windows...
We are using a 3Com SuperStack Firewall. I have like 15 remote users using the SafeNet IPSec VPN client. The way its setup right now doesn't give them a local IP address on the network and so there's no DNS resolution only WINS (after they manually edit their local machine's TCP/IP...
No, I haven't heard anything. Though I haven't looked into them any further I'm still very interested and would love to hear more about your demo. I may do a demo in the future but just don't have the time right now.
Did they say what their prices are like?
I was looking at all of the features of MOM 2005 on the MS website and really starting to like what I saw. Then I saw how much it is for each client and was very disappointed. I would be dropping at least $10k if I were to go with MOM 2005.
Does anyone know of an alternative to MOM 2005 that...
I am not content with the current VPN I have in place for my company. I came across Positive Networks http://www.positivenetworks.com on the internet and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them.
I have sharepoint wss 2003 with a SQL back end. I was fooling around with the site today and messed it up. Somehow I changed the original NewForm.aspx file for the default /Lists/Links area. So now when I click on "Add new link" I get directed to /_layouts/1033/error.aspx which says:
Error...
Interesting idea.
This unfortunately would have the end user do 2 steps instead of one (probably will be frowned upon by many).
Is there a way to batch the two into one task?
Thanks Castor66 for the reply.
I'm not sure that I'm following you.
Are you saying to:
1) establish an IPSec tunnel
2) establish a PPTP connection over the IPSec tunnel to a RRAS server in the domain.
Thanks again.
