Routing international dialed calls to PRI instead of trunks

I have a G3 v11 with trunks for our main numbers and a PRI for DIDs. I want to port my main numbers to the PRI and drop the trunks due to the cost. The thing I need to figure out is how to get international dialed calls to route out on the PRI instead of the trunks. I tried changing the route...

Registry entry for NTP server ???

Well, even new computers that get added to the domain get this setting. Actually net time /setsntp [IP] sets this reg entry: HKLM-System-CurrentControlSet-Services-w32time-Parameters-NTPServer It doesn't hard code this entry: HKLM-Software-Policies-Microsoft-W32time-Parameters-NTPServer I am...

Registry entry for NTP server ???

DHCP is handing out the new address. I forgot to mention that. The odd thing is that NTP functions correctly. All the clients sync with the new address. It is just that everyone is arping for the old address because of the registry entry. It is bizarre.

    Domain Controller

You have to add the stand-alone server to the domain. Exchange has to be able to "talk" to the domain controllers. Thus, it must be a member of the domain also.

Registry entry for NTP server ???

I have a problem I have been fighting for some time now. I took over a network that had an NTP server running internally. I installed a new NTP server and assigned a new IP address. I went through all of the W32TM functions to make the clients receive the new NTP server info. All clients appear...

Secondary Email Server to External Pop Server

It would be less expensive to get a brand new box from Dell or some vendor and install Sendmail on it. Have that act as your front end server and pass all your mail to Exchange on the back end. Then have your Exchange box send SMTP mail out through your BES and pass to your Blackberry carrier.

One PC/user "suddenly" unable to connect to Exchange Server

Can you log on with any user that can connect to Exchange (like a test account or your personal account?) If you can then it is most likely a permissions problem either in Exchange/AD for that user. If not then it is either a networking problem or client issue. I know this is vague, but it is...

queue on the SMTP Virtial Server has many entries?

You can right click on each queue and click on Delete-no NDR to delete any pending messages to retry delivery. Then refresh the Vitual SMTP and you should see them start to drop off. You cannot click and high-light all queues, unfortunately. I had customers that had open relay turned on and I...

    Exchange Cluster event log

Are all services running? If they are then I believe the problem could possibly hardware related. I have seen that type of error that was related to hardware failure in both SQL and Exchange clusters. Typically it ended up being bad fiber/GBIC/fibre conroller cards or any combination of the...

You can disable it in the services applet on the Exchange box. Just set it to manual startup. Cheers

    Mysterious Auto Locking of accounts

I had problems when a user was logged on to more than one workstation at a time. Then they would get prompted to change their password, which they would do on one workstation. Then they would forget to log off of the other workstation. This would cause the account to lock out continually. There...

Distribution Lists do not work since SP3 upgrade

Well, since this original post I have moved on to another company, so it is no longer my problem. But I have been having similar issues at my new company with permissions related to DL. Anyway, I was able to get them working again by assigning a new GUID. I used this Q article and it is now...

    Suggestions for corporate calendar sharing

Thx for the suggestion, but Execs do not want it done through public calendars. They want users to maintain their own calendar, but want anybody to be able to view anybody elses' calendar. We have about fifty employees and you can imagine how incredibly crowded a calendar can get with 50...
