Yeah - that is our long term solution, but we may not be able to do it until this summer. I'm trying to avoid either giving the attendants ASA just so they can look up the IP address, or having their process be to find someone in Telecom with ASA who can look it up for them. We have the switch...
Hello all - I'm trying to figure out if there is a FAC or button assignment I can give to my attendants so they can look up the IP address of an extension. We have users who move all over our campus, logging in to IP phones. I can provide the attendant with our IP ranges, and where on campus...
Hey folks, I'm trying to track down a Visio stencil for S3500s. On Avaya I find S3400s, and on the Russian site I find a ton of stuff, but can;t seem to find S3500s. If not, anyone have a recommendation of something else I could use that looks pretty close? Thanks in advance!
Sorry - brain fart. Aspect is the PBX/ACD, Invision is an IVR. My bad. Anyway - again, it depends on what you are connecting. Intervoice connects with anyone. Aspect can be trickier to connect to other systems. We are trying to integrate legacy systems into our SAP platform. Aspect requires an...
Invision is the application name for Intervoice, who is a major global player in IVR systems. The advantage with Intervoice is that they work with any PBX/ACD manufacturer, and any back end systems. At my old company, we had Intervoice IVRs tied to Avaya and to I3. If you are a pure Avaya shop...
Here is the answer from Avaya. (I love finding stuff!)
Apparently the information provided to update the Compatibility Matrix for 3.1.3 is incorrect.
Those firmware versions apply to CM Release 4.0, which is not scheduled for GA until March 19th.
Here is the response I got back from the team...
We are preparing to upgrade to 3.1.3. In the Communication Manager Software and Hardware Compatibility Matrix, they state the firmware version for TN2602s should be at 30. But at support.avaya.com, for 3.1.3, under the "Latest TN Circuit Pack, Media Server, and Media Gateway Firmware and...
We don't - mainly because a decent amount of people wait to the end of our main announcement to make a selection, and the extra few seconds spent telling rotary people to wait isn't worth it. There just aren't that many rotary users anymore that call us. Plus, the system will kick them to an...
But be careful - that info only tells you the software version of the server you are logged in to, in most cases, the controlling server(s). If you have other sites, in ESS or LSP configs, you should check each site, because they could be on different releases.
We have four sites, the main...
When I apply the patch to my S8700s, will they go out of service? I know I can patch the standby server, then fail over and patch the primary. But specifically, if I check the "Install this file on the local server" option when I download, will that server go out of service, like how firmware...
Does anyone know the way the system handles multiple targets in a firmware download? If I set up a download to go to five DS1s, let's say, does it do the first one, and once the first DS1 comes back up, it goes on to the next one? Or does it try to run through each of them at once? I'd hate to...
I'm trying to set up SNMP from my S8710s. They are on 3.0.1. In the admin guide, they show six different options under the Alarms section, Current Alarms, Agent Status, SNMP Agents, SNMP Traps, Filters and SNMP Test. But in both of my S8710s, I only have three options - Current Alarms, SNMP...
We're bolstering our redundancy, and currently we have a single Cajun with both S8710s plugged into it. We were going to purchase a second Cajun. Avaya told us we could do that, or purchase two switches ourselves, and they would configure them.
Why can't I just plug my two S8700s into my two...
We use them for testing our IVRs and RightFax servers (calls every 15 minutes, sends alerts if certain call treatments are not presented). Great product - really helpful. We also used them for hammer testing our IVRs before we put them in production. Good company to work with.
Our office is set up as a huge cube-farm, and it seems like most people's 4621s default to a medium-high ringer volume. Is there any way to globally set this up to be low? Or broadcast out a change?
I've also observed that if a phone is turned down to the lowest ringer volume, then it loses...
Hey - since I seemed to have stumbled into a discussion with a bunch of announcement experts, let me toss this one out. I'm upgrading to CM 2.0/S8700 in a week or so, and was told that the TN750's won't work. No problem - I have a VAL board. But the VAL board only had the 10 minute capacity. As...
I agree with Mike's recommendation - our Microcall collects CDR via my CLAN board, and I can use ASA to make synch up changes for both the Definity and Microcall. Excellent customer service. There was no charge to migrate from data module to CLAN-controlled CRD.
I have a strange alarm in my switch, that I can't seem to track down. I didn't find any useful info in the maintenance manual as far as testing, and am hesitant to do any intrusive testing because I don't know what this alarm refers to.
When I disp ala, I get:
Port Maint. Name On Board...
Hi - I have a trunk group set up with two IDSN-PRIs in it, each with its own D-channel. The strange thing is that each trunk has its own signaling group. Why it was set up this way is beyond me (before I got here). All the other trunk groups that I've set up have all trunks on the same signaling...
