I have the same problem as the 1st user has posted. I tried the NetICs password, no go....and I tried connecting the switches in a stack, they don't seem to "link" together(reset simultaneously). I looked in the "Display Hardware units" on a switch that I can log into and...
Since this original post, we have figured out out to log in. Using FORCE and FORCE does work, however, with only one supervisor engine card installed. It does not work with 2 sup engine's plugged in simultaneously.

We have received a lot of 3com 9000 Coreswitches and are having trouble clearing the passwords on them. Using FORCE/FORCE did not return desired results.
The message "Non-Volatile...Invalid" was returned, but on reset the password was not cleared.

I am receiving this message while booting the switch. What is the key combination to break the boot process. Is this a software or hardware issue. I would attempt a new software load, but couldn't break the boot. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am having trouble physically testing all ports on a SS II 3900 switch. Internal Software tests appear to be ok, but we can't get any lights to light indicating a connection. Could there be VLAN's or other configuration that would prevent traffic to flow through the switch.

I have used all possiblities for logins and passwords found for 1100/3300 switches in this forum. I thought 3comcso would have worked, but no luck. Next to sending these to 3Com, are there any other possiblities. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
