    matt: No, I don't think that I have any FAX software that's waiting for an incoming call, but will look. My dad said to look for a "Wake from modem" option somewhere and turn it off, but I can't find it anywhere.

    Dear All: I have a compaq 5050 that locks up completely or just reboots when the phone rings. I have updated firmware on both the PC and the modem to no avail. This piece of junk is almost 5 years old and obsolete, but it's all that I have.. Can anyone out there suggest something????? Mike
