"Still in transfer" when transferring to DN speeddial

Follows the phone; must be a bad phone?

"Still in transfer" when transferring to DN speeddial

They're all t7316s, nothing extra. Just one day, one phone stopped being able to transfer. F*0 showed that the buttons were blank. I did F*2 to program all buttons, and while that phone can now transfer to other phones, BLF doesn't work. Weird. Is there a setting on each phone that would...

"Still in transfer" when transferring to DN speeddial

All the phones are programmed the same, as verified by F*0. Still, one phone's BLF doesn't work. (I'm 99% sure it worked at one time, then seemed to suddenly stop working.) Any other ideas? Anyone?

"Still in transfer" when transferring to DN speeddial

NARSBARS: Ftr*2 or in the system programming? I've still not fixed it to my satisfaction: When programmed w/ F*2, BLF doesn't work.

"Still in transfer" when transferring to DN speeddial

Not sure of the proper terminology, but we want to: 1) See the status of other phones 2) Use those buttons for transfer Off the top of my head, I believe the phones are Nortel 7316s or 7116s. I could be remembering that incorrectly, but I'm 99% sure the last two #s are 16. (I'm not at the...

"Still in transfer" when transferring to DN speeddial

We would like to be able to see the status of other phones; is there a way to do this and still be able to use those buttons for transfer? Thanks for your help!

"Still in transfer" when transferring to DN speeddial

Thanks for the input, guys. OK, when I do F*0, the buttons are blank. However, I have them programmed in F**266344 on every phone (I don't think they're called speeddial in there--can't remember what they're called). If I program those buttons in F*2 to be a speeddial, call transfer works...

"Still in transfer" when transferring to DN speeddial

Hi, I have a Nortel CICS with 6 users. All the phones have speeddials to other DNs. When a call comes in and needs to be transferred to another user, the person receiving the call presses "Transfer" under the LCD, then the speeddial for another user's phone. This worked like a charm until...

    Cat5e: Can I Zip-Tie to EMT?

VoIPFANATIC, I do try to make things as neat and nice as possible, but there were several factors here--though none of them is an acceptable excuse, really: 1) I had no idea that code disallowed tying to conduit until after all the lines were run (I posted here to find out if there would be a...

    Cat5e: Can I Zip-Tie to EMT?

No, it's not being inspected, thankfully. I was all worried about it, until I went down to our local electrical supply wholesaler to buy supplies and noticed all their network cables zip tied to EMT containing 40+ amp lines feeding large heaters. Everything so far is working fine--2...

    Cat5e: Can I Zip-Tie to EMT?

In the 2008 NEC book (online), it's in 800.133(B): "Raceways shall be used for their intended purpose. Communications cables or wires shall not be strapped, taped, or attached by any means to the exterior of conduit or raceway as a means of support." I guess the question is: Does it matter...

    Cat5e: Can I Zip-Tie to EMT?

Thanks VoIPFANATIC. Here's the thing: Unfortunately, I already did it. I wasn't thinking at all when I ran the Cat5, and it only dawned on me yesterday (as I was zip-tying) that the EMT I was tying to might have live wires inside, and that florescent lights might cause me a problem. I looked...

    Cat5e: Can I Zip-Tie to EMT?

I'm running some Cat5e cabling in an industrial environment. Is it OK to zip-tie the Cat5e to EMT that has electrical wiring inside? Also, how much will florescent and/or mercury vapor/metal halide lighting interfere with the signal in the data lines? Thanks in advance!

Transferring CD to CD crashes computer

Cousin of mine has an XP machine w/ two CD drives, one a CD-ROM, one a CD burner. When they try to transfer files from one CD drive to another, the computer crashes and reboots. Bad drive, or is this an XP problem? Just trying to figure out if this is a hardware or software issue. Thanks!

    Random lockups

Can't figure why it would be CPU overheat--I've run CPU at 100% for extended periods with no problems. Their screen saver is slideshow of My Pictures. I ran graphics-heavy stuff, also, with no lockups. I dunno--I might have to tell them it's likely time for a new mobo or I'll build them a...

    Random lockups

Caps all look fine--some are a bit tilted, but nothing seems like it's going bad. No leaking from the base, no bulging. Of course, it's possible that the caps are bad even if they show no signs of being bad. Is there a way to tell if that's the case? I'm starting to lean toward "bad...

    Random lockups

Problem remains! Brand new power supply, clean heat sink. Problem is most consistant when turning on cold--when computer hasn't been used for some time. XP will load completely, then within 2 minutes, the lockup occurs. HD light comes on, all fans go to high speed, can't open or close CD...

    Random lockups

More: I got the problem to occur at my shop--it really seems like a heat problem, but the heat readings are only at about 112F for the HD and the CPU. I had slowed down the fans, and that seemed to force the problem, but the temps still don't seem that high to me. Also, to elaborate further...

    Random lockups

I might try a new PS, but I'm reluctant as I don't want to play "musical parts replacement". Also, if 11.7v is within spec, I'm reluctant to believe they have power problems at their house--customer is an electrician, and I'm sure he would have noticed power fluctuations. I'll double check...
