Hi

Trying to automate the following as seamlessly as possible without using call forward keys and so on.

I have two department groups associated with two ring groups with incoming calls routed to these via an external auto attendant options 1 and 2.

Department A outside business hours want to route off net via auto attendant only

Department B as and when route to voicemail via auto attendant only

Department A have fixed business hours but department B don't and want to set night service as and when required.

I want to use the business scheduler for department A ring group but if department B use dialled night service as and when this overrides the business scheduler.

Looking at tenanting and I can set the users of department A into a night leader tenant group but the business schedule is set to the DN of the ring group not the ring group members

Sorry it's difficult to test but my gut feeling is that this will NOT work

Any suggestions pointers will be much appreciated.

Its normally best to start any post with the pabx type and software version.

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

My Apologies Mivb 8.0 on MXe 111

I should know better !!

No Probs , you did have mivb 8 but i didnt pick it up as the Thread name was so long

It might depend on the version of 8 (we have 8.0SP3 PR1 14.0.3.22)
On our system the ring group numbers are listed on the rerouting table
this means that they can have a business schedule applied to them .
have you actually tried assigning a business schedule this way ?
it looks like if business schedule it should follow that and not the system nightswitching
From Call Rerouting Online help
Enter a Business Schedule number (1 to 100) for the selected DN. The assigned business schedule and its current business mode determines which Call Rerouting Always Alternative is chosen for the this DN.
If you leave this field blank (no business schedule assigned), the Call Rerouting Always Alternative follows the system's Day/Night Service schedule.

Hi

The version 8 does have ring groups appearing in the call re-routing forms.

I have assigned a business schedule to the ring group for dept A and this part does work. Calls follow the business schedule assigned to day and night 1. Night 1 sends calls off net however dept B are using dialled night service code to put there department into night 2 service sends calls to external VM not using Mitel embedded or newpoint.

So as far as I can ascertain when dept B puts the system into night 2 calls to dept A then no longer follow the business schedule.

I can't set a business schedule for dept B because they want to use it as and when they like.

I think that tenanting with a night service leader may work but I can't assign a tenant number to a ring group only it's members.

I have now done this and am waiting for confirmation from site but just wanted to ask others who may have had a similar scenario.

I really wanted to confirm if system day night switching does override a business schedule and so far I am convinced it does.

System options is blank for system business schedule.

Problem is I don’t really have a lab to test in house.

Thanks

Do you have any zones set ?

I did have some issues with a site that had the system assigned to a zone ?

It sounds like you may have to front end the ring group with a trusted device (that can be tenanted)

can you get the results of tehse maintenance commands
schedule display DN XXXX where XXXX = extension using business schedules (RING GROUP)
schedule display SCH X Y where x = schedule and y = zone

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

DN: 5511
DN: 5017
The directory number (DN) is not assigned a business schedule.
Business schedule: 2
Zone ID: 1
Current system time: 2018-JUL-09 08:36:15.00 MON
Time interval, system: 34 (08:30), zoned: 34 (08:30)
Current day, system based: MONDAY, zone based: MONDAY
Scheduled holiday, system based: No, zone based: No
Current business mode, system based: NIGHT1, zone based: NIGHT1

5511 is the ring group and shows only DN: 5511

5017 is a member if the ring group 5511 and I have not set a schedule on this DN

The last result is from command display SCH X Y where 2 = schedule and 1 = zone

I have not yet assigned any zones so default

Thanks

Time interval, system: 34 (08:30), zoned: 34 (08:30)
Current day, system based: MONDAY, zone based: MONDAY
Scheduled holiday, system based: No, zone based: No
