After running about 20 test backups of the Shadow Copy Components, I decided to try a different set of credentials and the backup worked. I had to use domain admin credentials so I imagine these two servers are locked down tighter than the other two.
Obviously the ideal fix is to give the...
Mike,
Something I found that's interesting. On the two servers that I'm backing up the Shadow Copy Components (w/o using the AOFO, mind you), the file version of the remote agent is 9.1.4691. On the servers that are failing, the file version is 10.0.5520. Looks like the newer version breaks...
Mike,
I'm also experiencing this issue. I have two DCs with identical hardware and OS setups that are not having the problem while two others are. I'll let you know if I find a fix.

I used the wrong terminology.
I want to permanently delete a server registration from Enterprise Manager. I deleted a registration (i.e., servername\database) but, when I go to add a new SQL Server registration, the same servername\database combination appears.

I want to set time on my domain controllers by referencing an outside time source (time.nist.gov). I understand that my Windows 2000 and XP clients will pull time from their authenticating DC. I've read through several posts on this forum and several article's on MS's site but I'm a little...
If you don't have a fix yet:
Run a rootkit scan. I know somebody who experienced the same symptoms and discovered a rootkit after running a scan.

I ran a test reverse lookup on my IP as well as the IP for wananchi.com and we both have PTR records. When I go to dnsstuff.com and send a test email to an address in the wananchi.com domain, though, the test fails. I'll notify them.

I've tried installing two different two-port serial cards from two different manufacturers into a Dell Dimension 5150 running Windows XP Professional. I go through the Add/Remove Hardware wizard and direct the OS to the appropriate drivers.
When I reboot I receive a blue screen with a...
