    vbs login script

The underlying issue is that the two groups in question also serve as the e-mail "groups". The Houston people use Houston group and the Dallas people use Dallas group. There are a few overlaps in membership. It is an environment that I inherited and can't do much about. Unfortunately, the...

    vbs login script

I am trying to adapt a vbs login script written by Mark D. MacLachlan for use at my company. The script works great, but I am not much beyond the script kiddie cut and paste stage where vbs is concerned. Mark uses a Case statement to map network drives for people in Global Groups on the...

Microsoft Word Forms Slow to Open or Corrupt

In the last week or so numerous of my users have experienced problems with Microsoft Word forms that have "fill-in" fields being very slow to open or going corrupt. These forms are not newly created or from a newly saved template, but had been saved to a local or network drive at some time in...

The Microsoft Exchange Server Computer is not available

The problem has been solved, thanks. It did turn out to be a permissions issue -

The Microsoft Exchange Server Computer is not available

I am setting up a new computer for a user that access my network via Citrix. Everything works fine for him locally, however when I log in as him in a Citrix session and attempt to access his e-mail via Outlook I get: 'Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The Microsoft Exchange Server...

Log Files in Backup Exec IMG Folders

I am using BackupExec ver. 11d and am doing disk to disk backups every night. I notice that inside of most of the directories that are created, there are .log files created, each of which is 5,120 kb in size. These log files are named automatically, for example E000DAA.log, and then...

    Error 8885 and 8804

Yes, this latest batch. I personally have not seen the error, but two people in my Austin office have. Oddly enough, they can login to a server up here in Dallas, but cannot login to their local server there in Austin. I will take a look at the machines there in Austin and document the...

    Error 8885 and 8804

I am getting some intermittent failures to login and error code 8885 and 8804 on some of my machines. These errors are occurring AFTER the latest Microsoft updates. Anyone seen this yet?

    Netware 3.12 Issue

I know that this is not the 3.12 forum, but that has not seen any activity in about 2 years, so I am hoping that some of the more experienced members of this forum can assist. I have a client that is using a NW3.12 server for an old accounting and time app. All aspects of this app work fine...

    Server went to 100% Utilization

Thanks very much. It must be an intermittent issue, because it did not crash my other servers, just the Groupwise (fortunately). I will be doing SP6 soon, but in the meantime I will be aware of the issue and make sure my scans make an exception for those boxs.

    Server went to 100% Utilization

Is there any information out there on Novell servers (mine are NW 6.5) being thrown to 100% utilization when being hit by a network scan. I have a guy in here doing a network audit and he is using GFI Languard. Yesterday afternoon, right after he started scanning, my Groupwise (7.01) went to...

    News about Next OES release

That is good news. Personally, I was excited to see that Netware was going to port to Linux, but having done some test installs, my excitement has cooled. I don't know that I care to have an additional layer in the mix. The native Netware OS is clean and neat and with the remote access tools...

    Suse Linux-OES Install

In answer to my own question, it is necessary to go into YaST and configure things from there. Much more inconvenient. It is much better to configure from the install. Also, I found that all administration is done from iManager - not sure I like that so much - and that it does not work well...

    Suse Linux-OES Install

Since there is not a OES 7 forum yet, I guess this is the place to start asking questions. I got my new OES Server stuff recently and am now experimenting with installs. I anticipate upgrading my NW 6.5 stuff in the next few months, but want to get comfortable with the environment. The good...

    NMAS Issues

Randomly, when a user logs in, drive mappings are off. The user might get a F drive mapping to an alternative server and the login script defined drive mappings fail to happen. Typically when this happens, I set the Bad Address Cache Timeout to 0 and the Bad Server Name Cache Timeout to 0...
