Are shortcuts to servers on desktop also checked at login?

We have a WAN domain environment and would like to have your opinion on mapping network drives or shortcuts to servers. Does mapped network drives slows down the login process?Option on LAN vs WAN servers.

Noticed error is back again. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Also noticed this in a reboot. Error was gone after rebooting a one of the servers.

We are experiencing a CMD.exe end task error when trying to log off from our Win 2003 Servers while connected with RD. You have to end tesk this before log off will take place. Could this be script related or what could be causing this? No strange errors in the event logs.

We no longer have a WINS server but certain sites still have these settings applied when checking ipconfig /all. There no manual entries in host file or network connections on users computers. DHCP also not showing WINS entries. Where can this be coming from?

Definitely not a size problem.

Messages are all small in size and not open. Have a few users users who have this problem intermittedly. All running in cache mode.

Yes any XP workstation can see them but not Windows 7. Printers are all set as listed in directory. Must be a Windows 7 setting.

Yes they are all network printers shared by printer servers. If i go the add printer route it only brings up printers located at some of our overseas branches.I can add printers by using \\print_server_name - connect.

When i browse list of network printers i only get a few printers listed in AD.I dont have this problem with Win XP.

If i have my LAN and WiFi enable which connection will be used. Also what about the IP addressing seeing that both connection gets an IP address from DHCP?

I have a few users who's email stays in their Outbox on Outlook 2007. We are connecting to MS Exchange and there's no network problems. Sometimes restarting Outlook solves the problem.

We need to save email messages to file server but dont want to open each email and go file save as. Any add-ins available that will allow drag and drop of emails to map network drive?

I have one site where users are creating new folders on Windows 2003 Server but they need to F5 (refresh) explorer everytime before seeing the new folder. Same happens with deleting or renaming a folder. User have XP Pro SP3.
