This isn't so much of a problem, more a curiosity.
We have a dual line setup with ISDN and SIP. We have ARS handle the dial short codes, basically anything that has 00 at the beginning (i.e international) gets sent over the SIP trunk as it's cheaper. Everything else goes over ISDN.

Yes system status is a great application for administration and diagnostics. It's not a good application for the receptionist to use. Especially as there is a connection limit and if too many receptionists use it, then I cannot connect to it!
