that makes sense.
How can I concatenate the function added parts of the string I want to build without making the variable local?

I think I am missing a basic thing in my JS recently.
I’m trying to use a variable globally, but it doesn’t seem to be global.
I am defining it here, which is within the <HEAD> tags:
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
if (drawingsfolder == null){
var drawingsfolder =...
Wondering if anyone can spot what is wrong in this code, and tell me how to fix it.
I’m trying to dynamically populate a select options object on my html page.
What I have is an options select which after choosing will offer different options in 2nd one depending on choice in first, then...
If I felt I was in the right I would argue to the death :)
However, what umbrage can I take from being accurately corrected? :)

ah vacunita you posted while I was replying.
That looks good. I'll try that right now thanks.
I was wondering after I posted if the target might be an issue.

I use a browser based system of checking procedures, written in html and javascript.
I’m doing a new one where I have a few <select> tag options.
I want to use these with onchange functions, to build up a variable that contains a url, and use that variable in a link lower down the page.
I can...
I certainly haven't set a seperate place for the pagefile.
Anyway, I ran some scans, had a look about, scratched my head a bit, then tried a restart, selecting safemode with networking.
It started.
So tried windows normal.
Worked.
And been working since.
Beats me!

Well I got the PC up and running from the UBCD4WIn CD no probs with all the original hardware present (though of course it only sees 4 of the 8 gig of RAM. My swapping tests were done with only 2 sticks at a time. Sticks are all 2GB)
I'm running some AV scans just in case, but I don't see any...
Thanks guys. It's looking like UBCD4win is my main hope.
Been reading millions of posts on it and every one is counting on fixing things by getting safe mode booted, which I can't.
I am gonna try a different graphics card incase it's gone down.

I forgot to say I have run memtest86+ v4.0 which reported 100% fine on first full test.
I have 4 sticks, I've tried each pair alone in turn, but not one sole stick yet.
