Hi all, Appreciate this is a bit old now but ive got a XP machine running office 2000 and when word 2000 is opened it crashes (opens up white page but toolbars dont load) and it then runs the CPU at 100%. I have to kill the process to get out of it. Ive tried renaming the normal.dot template...

Ive done a fresh install of windows 7 which was lovely and nice and quick! But has anyone tried an upgrade from vista to 7? fresh install was about 20 mins, upgrade took about 3 hours and was painfully slow after the install as well. Luke

yeh it definately sounds like its going to sleep, when its been left a while, if possible see if your router still has the laptop on the DHCP client list, if it does you could always set the laptop to wake on LAN activity thus when you wanted to connect it would wake the laptop up if its not...

and yeh auto in the BIOS should work but then that should of happened when you reset the BIOS unless it has manual jumpers on the board. Which board do you have??
