    Your ID installation disc has nice scripts to do a lot of good stuff, including alignment to page (AlignToPage.jsx) Copy scrips to Presets/Scripts folder, open Scripts pallette from Window-Automation-Scripts meny and enjoy

    I think there are could be at least 2 possibilities. 1) if pdf was built with spot color, shadow overlappes text and distilled with pdf 1.3 Open in Acrobat- File- Document Properties- Description and figure out if it's PDF Version 1.3 - that's it or 2) most possible- again deep shadow...
