Quick question on hubs, should my servers all be on the same hub or distributed?

All three of my servers are TYAN motherboards, dual 900Mhz PIII, 512ram, one 20Gb ATA 100 (for OS), built-in 10/100 lan (using full duplex 100 on cat5 cabling).
I use 3 Intel hubs (all are the same), although right now I can't remember what the model number is.

My LAN consists of (2)Windows 2000 Servers as DCs, (1)Windows NT4 file server, multiple Windows 98se users.
When users access files from network drives, sometimes the request for that file times out and sometimes it does not.
I do want to upgrade the NT4 machine to 2000, but the SCSI raid card...
I would enable Global Catalog server on a second DC.
After all, GC enables network logon by providing universal group membership information to a domain controller when a logon process is initiated.

Use SRVMGR.EXE located in %SystemRoot%\System32\SRVMGR.EXE
You should see a list of DCs. Right click on the DC you want to promote and you should get a drop menu on options to do so.

When my Windows 2000 Domain Controller #2 starts up I get "At least one service or driver failed during system startup. Use event Viewer to examine the event log for details."
