Hello Chaps,

A bit of help, on a site using bc12 sp5. and just trying to get a handle on Pelpi's

A scenario is 3 extensions and VoiceMail.

xtn a -> xtn b -> xtn c-> VM.

now the Pelpi's set up work fine.
however if A has follow me to C
and C is busy.

when you ring A caller gets busy.
even if Cdini or follow from C to VM.

Have tried various scenarios with Pelpi's and these always work.

So therefore question is.... are we supposed now to use Pelpi's rather than follow me's for more than one hop

cheers

LB

Hello LB,

are we supposed now to use Pelpi's rather than follow me's for more than one hop - YES.

There is table to see which diversions are allowed to chain, in Alex: System Documents - Description Source System - 7 Extension Features - here you can scroll down to see a description of which diversions can be chained.

In conjunction with Repeated Diversion there is also the PELCS command with which you can set that a Repeated Deflection is allowed after diversion/follow me.

For the rest you must use Repeated Deflection.

We're on BC11 SP13 and one problem we have struck with PELPI is that, even if the phone is in use, the caller receives a burst of ring on busy then the busy tone.

It's very confusing for the caller. They think :
a) your phone is out of order
b) you picked up the call but dropped the handset
c) you don't want to talk to them

It also causes problems for the operator when extending to a busy phone using the PELPI feature. At first the phone appears to be free so the operator transfers to it. About a second later the true state of the phone (ie:busy) is evident and the caller gets busy tone.

Forgot to mention, this is Australian market. Maybe different in other countries.

Has anyone else experienced this.
We had it in both BC10 and BC11.
Is it still the same in BC12 ?

thanks,
John.
