I have a system that imports data into Great Plains. The address line in GP is not long enough to accommodate all of the addresses. Is it possible to increase the length of the field?

In version 7.0 (we are upgrading soon) have any of the lengths changed for addresses?

The Address fields are 30 characters long and have not been increased since v6.0.

As with all Great Plains tables, you cannot modify the length of the field in the SQL Table. You must either split the address into 3 lines and use the 3 fields or make a customisation.

To make this customisation you store the longer address in a separate table. There are methods of doing this with VBA or Dexterity as well as ISV products like eXtender from
Can I suggest that you do not upgrade to v7.0, but to v7.5 or v8.0. As there is no new development for v7.0 and so any issues found will not be fixed in v7.0, but may be fixed in v7.5 or v8.0 Service packs.
