I'm an MTS virgin.

I've taught myself the fundementals of VB and now have started looking at 3-Tier theory. To do this I need MTS.
Where do you get MTS from? Does it come as part of a server package suchas SQL Server or part of a programming laguage such as VB6?

In other words, where should I install it from?

Ok, Dazed,
Sorry to scare you but I have been using MTS and now COM+ for years and I'm still confused. I was on this site because I have 2 different com+ problems right now. First of all MTS is pretty much obsolete. It came with a special package called the NT 4 option pack. I don't know if that is downloadable from anywhere or not. As far as COM+ goes, I am not sure but I think that ships with the operating system (Win2K or higher?). Anyway - my recommendation to you is to hone your database skills before you attack an entity like MTS/Com+. I was using 3 tier apps before I got MTS forced down my throat. But sadly, the technology I used, RDS(Remote Data Services), to call middle tier objects is on its way out the door thanks to SOAP and web services.

Yuop you've scared me alright.

I'm looking to get a handle on 3-Tier solutions and currently my only skill set that supports that is VB6. I'm starting to work towards VB.Net very shortly and may now just let my work on that lead me to 3-Tier.
