Have a NEAX 2000 IPS system with an external CD/DVD changer attached and using it for Music on hold. However; the music on hold is too loud any ideas on how to adjust the volume? CD/DVD changer does not have a volume control on it.

There 8is a little black "pot" or adjustment right below the jack where you plug in the Music on hold on the cp24.
Use a small flathead screwdriver.

when looking closer at the setup of this system i have found the following.....The card is a CP27 and the connection from the CD/DVD player is setup this way...it comes out of the play to a telephone jack with the connection back to the CP27 card connected internally to wall jack and a rj45 patch cable going from the wall jack to the LEN 0207.....I not 100% familiar with NEC PBX systems since i have worked on Definity G1 and G3 systems...this is a different setup all together...there is a toggle on the card that resembles a volume control but it does not have any affect on the volume is there a jumper that needs to be changed?

unsure what card this is LEN is using...any idea how to determine this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the card in which the Len is assigned is a PN8COT

wish I could give some useful info to help you with your problem but coincidentally I am having a similar problem.

I have a CP14 card in my NEAX2000IPS2 that contains the 1/8" phono jack. I am plugging in a known good audio source and can't hear anything while on-hold. I tried adjusting the pot just below the jack and still nothing.

Is there some software setting to activate this port?

Thanks in advance....

There is a Jumper on the CP14 card (JP1) that needs ot be jummped on the middle PIN and the lower PIN. You must shut down the PBX to move the Jumper. DO NOT touch the jumper labled JP0

Make sure that all the Patterns (00, 01 & 02) are set to "1400" in COmmand 480

With that type of set up, using a trunk port as the connection point for your Musing On Hold AND the fact there is no volume control on the CD player, your stuck with the level of output it is set to now. You may try to add some resistors on the speaker leads...

This may sound hokie but it works!!! We use one cd player with a non ASCAP or BMI cd and feed the audio to all three of our switch sites over our T-1 network.... we have a (and I'm not braggin') Radio Shack mini speaker amplifier with a wall (wort to power it)at each location feeding music on hold. The beauty of this setup is: seperate level control for each switch, common music source for all, could act as an ac power fail conformation if your suspicious of a possible switch room power failure, just call a station on the switch and have 'em put you on hold (digital) or hook flash (analog) and you'll know!!!
