Has anybody ran into any problems with setting up a broadcast message on any audix platform ( intuity or def audix ) ..

I have a user ( HR Dept ) that wants to start putting out Voicemail broadcast notices. We have about 20 branches. all but 5 are stand alone sites. The 5 are networked together.

1. Can one broadcast notice be sent out to all networked machines?

2. How is a broadcast message setup

3. Does it only reside on the Voicemail system or does it need a station on the pbx with coverage?

Any help would be helpful.

The Voice Mail Service Administrator may send a broadcast message to all subscribers in the system. Follow these steps to send a broadcast message:
Log in to the administrator's mailbox.
Press [ 1 ] to record your message and [ 1 ] again when finished.
Choose one of the following:
• [ # ] to approve
• [ 2 ] [ 1 ] to re-record
• [ 2 ] [ 3 ] to review
• [ * ] [ D ] to delete
After you have approved your message, AUDIX will prompt you to enter an extension or name.
Press [ * ] [ M ]. Note: If you are not the voice mail service administrator, or if you have already entered other address information, you will get an error message.
Press [ y ] to verify that you want to send a broadcast message and [ 1 ] again to approve.

Hope this helps...

Be aware that broadcast messages expire in 48 hours by default, so change that if u don't want them to expire then.
U have to make a broadcast mailbox to start out with, if don't already have one. But don't log into that mailbox to send a message, only to delete it. support.avaya.com will walk u thru it.

I thought you had to send an individual broadcast to each node on the network...?

U don't need a station on the pbx for the broadcast mailbox. I think that u have to make a broadcast in each voice mail system, but don't know for sure.
U can make the broadcast turn on the message waiting lights, but it is not adviseable because it slows the voice mail system quite a bit.
