Hi All,

Please help me with next serious problem!

I have BC9, with a 2 LIM system with external Dect System (AB protocoll, R6C system version) And I encountered the next message, when I wanted to program an EL7 extension:

Not accepted
No free space.

Though SYEVP shows several free EQUs, I cannot program even one equ in LIM2. In LIM1 works.
This error also occurs if I want to program with another card, another EQU!

I tried rfboi; rfpui:unit=elp7s1 or elp7re; rfexi; cordless system restart; card manual reset >>>NONE OF THEM HELPED!

Thanks in advance

How much memory do you have on LPU5 in LIM2?
It should be 64 MB.

Is this a problem only in connection with EL7 or is it a general problem i.e. also with other types of extensions (analogue, digital)?

LIM2 might be out of spare memory. You can check that with CNLIP:LIM=2; This print will give you information on how much spare memory there is before and after memory packing.

If you suspect there is not sufficient memory space you can pack the memory with MHPAI:LIM=2; and see if it helps.

Hi!

Pls printout nadap;
and excap:print=all;
The memory of the LPU has nothing to do with this!

Hello Guys,

I neither can program digital or any type of extension!
Damovo says I reached the maximum number of extensions/lim.

The Config, you asked:

<cnlip:lim=2;

LIM CONFIGURATION

LIM NUMBER 2

LIM CONTROL LIM CONTROL NUMBER OF SERVICE
SYSTEM SIDE SYSTEM STATE PCM-LINKS STATE LIM
A EXECUTING 1 ACTIVE
B NOT EQUIPPED

MEMORY MEMORY MEMORY SPARE
VOLUME SPARE AFTER PACKING

BUAR1 1496 KB BUAR2 1225 KB

CURRENT INTER LIM SIGNAL PACKET LENGTH: 90

So, Shall I try mhpai?

Waiting for your replies!

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Memory space before packing is the same as after packing in your case so that will not help.

How many extensions do you have in LIM2?

I have 525 extensions all together in LIM2 and 30 public lines...
Is that a limit?
Can it be overriden?

Maximum is 640 per LIM so you have probably already reached the limit.

Is the situation the same in LIM1? If not, perhaps you could consider moving extensions from LIM2 to LIM1 if possible.

Thanks,

Unfortunately no way to move extensions between the LIMs because they are located at different sites.
Is there a trick or possibilitiy to override this limitation?

I know of no way to override this limit. What you need is one more LIM.

In your case adding of a LIM also means that you will need a group switch (GS) because your system will in that case become a 3 LIM system. From 3 LIMs and up you must use GS.

Hi,

Yes 450 ext/LIM is correct for a 3-124 LIM system and the corresponding limit for a 1-2 LIM system is 640 ext/LIM.

Are these limits for a 2 magazine or 4 magazine LIM. We have some older LIMs - not sure of their proper designation but they are old, large and brown and only contain two magazines.

What is the extension limit on these - both with & without GS ?

Thank you.

Hi,

Don´t know what the release is of your system but generally speaking the limits are both software and hardware related. The limits mentioned in previous posts are the software limits in BC8-BC11.

To be able to use maximum number of extensions you also need corresponding hardware i.e. sufficient number of hardware positions.

A magazine can handle 256 timeslots so if you only have two magazines that is one limit for you. How the timeslots are distributed in the magazine is also of importance.

Right now I only have access to documentation from BC7 and up. In BC7 the software limit per LIM is a total of 375 extensions, analogue and digital together. If you only have analogue (EL6) the total is 350 ext/LIM and with only digital the figure is 300 ext/LIM.

This "no free space" problem is not in LPU or memory limitation. It is the program unit that handles features. In this case it could be the records in DER are full. The only way to fix this problem is to :
1. Move extensions to other LIM.
2. Delete unuse extensions.
3. Add LIM.

To FICRI and all,
thanks for your replies and information. We are running BC10 on 13 LIMS with about 3000 extensions.
I can see now that there are many variables that determine the practical limit on number of extensions per LIM.
Little wonder that our Ericsson / DaMoVo technician
was a bit non-committal when I asked him how many extensions we could run from a LIM.
