How do you make an outline around an Vector image. I need this info to make a designated Summa DC3 cut line around an image. I now have to manuely make the outline which can be time consuming if its not a circle or square. After I drw the line I apply the swatch color that tells the printer to cut the outline.

Try Oject > Path > outline path or Offset path

Maybe depending on the design offset path .005 or something.

Give it a wirl.

Outline/Offset path won't work - that tool is for paths. You need to use the Autotrace tool. Import the vector art and click on the edge with the Autotrace tool and it will try following the edge of the artwork. You can adjust the acuracy of the tracing by selecting the pulldown menu: File/Preferences/Type & Autotracing... Tracing by hand will always be more accurate but Autotrace works quickly and does an O.K. job.
