I've got Telecommuting all setup. I have a R11 Multiadvantage. Finally got the right license installed for all the extra features.

How does one use the telecommuting extension? When I call it all I get is dialtone. What sequence of what steps are needed?

Thanks in advance.

KT

We are looking to upgrade to R11 soon and we are also implementing Telecommuting. I also have some questions, the main one being does the switch hold the PSTN line open for the whole time the agent is logged on or does it dial out to the agent to deliver a call? John

Here is an excerpt from a user guide I put together on telecommuting:

Use this feature to have unanswered calls go to 1 of 2 pre-defined paths. This is sometimes known as the telecommuting feature. Typically, path 1 is the office desktop phone and path 2 is a home phone.

¨ Dial remote access number
¨ Listen for dial tone
¨ Enter *35
¨ Listen for dial tone
¨ Enter 5-digit extension, then #
¨ Enter 4-digit security code, then #
¨ Enter 1 or 2 for the desired coverage path
¨ Listen for confirmation tone

Note:

"*35" will vary according to the FAC you've defined to Change Coverage Access.

Hello,

I just upgraded to version 11 on g3si and I have been experimenting with the telecommuter options. I have set a ch cov feature and have followed "CommDude's" suggestion. I get this to work just fine, however, it does not prompt me for a security code. Other than that, the procedure works great for me. Is there an additional setting so the caller would have to use their security code after entering their extension. Also, I do not require the # key after entering the extension. Anybody have similar results?

Scotty John,

People here are talking about the Telecommuting feature of DEFINITY, this feature consists of:
- Call Coverage Redirect Off Net
- Personal Station Acces

In earlier releases of DEFINITY this was a system add on, now a days it is imbedded in the MultiVantage R11 load.

Your question is about the IP Softphone or IP Agent in the Telecommuter mode.

does the switch hold the PSTN line open for the whole time the agent is logged on or does it dial out to the agent to deliver a call
The switch dails out to deliver the call, or when an agents starts a call
Please let me know if the information that was provided is helpfull.

To resurect this issue. What is the difference between remote dialing in and the telecommuting access?

to set up telecommuter

COS of extension to use telecommuter
-cov of call red of net "Y"
-ext cov/fowrd "Y"
-PSA "Y"

on station form
-put in security code
-put in the 2nd coverage path you want to use

-Change tel access code (put in the DID for remote user)
-Change Feature (put in a "cover access code")
-Change sys cov (page 2) cov of call redic "Y"

you are set to use

-Dial the DID
-Dial Cover access code
-Enter the extension number and #
-Enter Security Code and #
-Enter 1 for cover path 1 or 2 for cover path 2
-Givers double Beep

I've followed mike144's directions, however when I get the part where I dail the ext and # and then the security code and #, I get the hi-lo tone.

I've reset the security code and it didn't help.

Any clues?

Thanks!

Just a minor point: If you are using ISDN trunks you cannot direct access the extension. I had to build a vector to access the telecommuter extension.

1a2 to ip I seen it all

That part is working OK. I'm having trouble right after I enter the security code, I get hi-lo tone.

help!

I wonder if you station COS needs Console permisions set to Y?

In the future everything will work...

Both COR and COS needs to be touched. Below are mine

Has anyone wrote a vector to prompt the user for the info rather then giving the step by step process. If a user is on the road then they could dial in and be prompted for the info to enter.

Thank you! It was the " Can Change Coverage? y " field that was messing me up!

Now, next question: How do I set it up so that the end user can dial in remotely and punch in whatever phone number they wish to have their ext. forwarded to?

Thanks!

feature access codes below will allow the user to do this

Extended Call Fwd Activate Busy D/A 140 All: 141 Deactivation: 142

using the codes above as an example:

to activate call telecomuter extension
dial 141 receive dialtone
dial extension then # hear silence
dial security code then # hear dialtone
dial number cal forward number with 9-1-NPA-NXX-XXXX hear same as if dialing normally. then beep beep beep.

to deactivate call telecomuter extension
dial 142 receive dialtone
dial extension then # hear silence
dial security code then # hear beep beep beep

You are now good to go
Hope this helps

How do you enable Personal Station Access?

I tried adding a fac as well as enabling in COS but each place tells me "feature not assigned"
