Hi all,
I have been asked to look at the possibility of setting up tenant-partitioning on our G3r v8.
Firstly, is this a standard feature or a chargeable option? The other is that we run with a call centre environment using EAS. We would still like to have the flexibility of routing calls across agents residing in different partitions. Is this possible or are the seperate partitions blocked from 'talking' to each other? John

This is a chargable option,
You have to assign a tennant to each object, so you can assign objects to a new tennant partition, and leave others in the default one.
Just keep in mind that whatever you assign, you have to consider in which partition it goes.
You can assign VDN,Agents, Stations,trunks..
So you can decide to share agents, but not trunks for example
Another nice feature is, you can assign a diffrent Hold-music source per partition.

Okay, first my grain of salt, I inherited a switch with partitioning and don't do call center stuff but, Partition groups are standard to the package you can program 8 of them. What partition groups serve to do, predominantly is route outbound calls across different trunks. You set up your partition group according to COR and then assign partition routing tables to each partition group. This allows me to ensure that the each individual, live or die on your own, business entity is using their own facilities to make calls. As far as talking back and forth, internal and incoming calls don't care what partition group my people belong to. A call can come into my LDN and be sent anywhere in throughout the organization and vice versa, once the call is handed off to the switch I can send it wherever I want. Not too much technical information here but if you go to the Administrator's guide, Chapter 8 there is a section titled 'Defining ARS Partitions'.

Sorry, right about the chargeable thing, do a 'disp sys cust' and on the second page you can see if you have it or not.
