Anybody out there liek to help with a vectoring issue?
I'm trying to route traffic more intelligently by checking the traffic in all VDNS before routing a call. I want to see how busy the call centre is before allowing a call through to be queued. This will enable me to route extra calls through for one VDN when other VDNs are not busy thus optimising use of the trunks. I can see a 'calls-counted' check on an if statement but this only checks one VDN. Is there something in the vectoring language that will enable to count all the calls to VDNs taht are routed to the call centre?

Thanks

Traffic doesn't really sit in the vdn, once its queued to a skill. If your wanting to check calls in queue perform a queue check to see if call are backing up to much. (Goto step x if calls queued is greater then 15). Are you routing calls to a second call center off site of this one? Wisdom is Knowledge

Another way to do this is to play with the queue slots on the hunt group form. Set the hunt group for to allow the number of callers to queue taht you desire. In the vector a queue to skill/split will fail if there are no queue slots and drop to the next step. One of the many ways to tweek you Call Center. Hope this helps

Thanks

thanks guys

The issue I have is with trunk capacity. I have 120 trunsk for incoming calls. I wanted build in some flexibilty into the call vectoring where I could check the amount of lines being used by the 6 VDNS which route calls to the call centre for six different countries. I want with the vector of each VDN how many calls there are in total across al 6 VDNS. This would enable me to control how many of the 120 lines are being used at any one time. This would give me the opportunuity to allow calls through for one VDN should the other VDNS not be busy. If they are3 busy it just allow the normal amount of calls through. I hope this makes sense.

Vdns and vector can only control the calls already in your switch. I don't think you can control what incoming trunks will be used by a vdn or vector. I think what your wanting to do is at a telco level of call control. Wisdom is Knowledge

I don't want to control which incoming trunks are used. i just want a vector/s to be able to check how much traffic/calls there are in total in 6 VDNs(for the call centre) so that it can route more/less traffic depending on the this total amount. At the moment I can only see 'call-counted in VDN' command but this just checks one.

ok its quite simple what I'd like to do but I think the programming may not be available to do it. I have 6 VDNs, one for each customer line. I want to allow more calls through for one VDN only if the other VDNs are low in call-count. This would maximise the turnover for the busy VDN. Before I let in more calls for a VDn that is in demand I need to check whether the status of the calls in the other VDNS. I don't want to let in too many extra calls if the others are busy. If tehy are busy and the normal allocation of calls ofr that VDn has been met I would disconnect calls that could not be serviced with a message.
