Hi

New to this forum, looked for the above with no luck, hoping someone can help me.

We have a home office set up, using two Aastra 6730i desk phones and Sipgate.
We did use Cicso ATAs but a while back they started interfering with our internet connection.

Now we would like to be able to transfer an incoming call from one handset to the other, using
extension numbers?

Does anyone know how to do this?

Many thanks

Regards

I'm trying to cut down on the use of shrieks (exclamation marks), I'm told they are !good for you.

Are you suggesting the best way to do this is to set up a PBX in the office?

Looking more closely at the Sipgate account, I don't think my current plan will support it without something in house
to do the pbx - looks like omonat is correct

Not sure where you are located but in Europe you could use a Fritz Box - it gives multiple extensions and handles multiple SIP providers

I'll google it

There are free phone systems out there like 3CX that you can run on your PC and connect the SIP trunk to it then connect the phones to that system.
You can play with that and get to a point where you can have it work to your liking.

I would make sure that there is a failover to a cell phone when the SIP trunk goes down as that takes the pressure off in having it work immediately and fully.

There are many more free software based systems on the market and I am not associated with 3CX in any way nor do I have it myself (any more) I went with a used Avaya IP Office but I work on those and have the expertise to do what it needs to have done

@Westi

I was quite excited to try 3CX, but their free version has a very limited number of trunk suppliers - and sipgate is not amongst them... mwhaaa mwhaa

I think they had a custom option in there because my provider was also not listed.
I played with it for a couple of weeks then I got bored but a former colleague of mine is selling the pro version and he is happy with it.

I quickly tried and find one with google but was unsuccessful with the search.

There is some kind of custom arrangement - probably in the paid for versions.

Yes, Sipate requires a paid monthly package, I have just the free account and there is no option for adding ext's.
However, you can setup completely different accounts with different emails and call each others "user name" which is an 8 digit number.

I also use Voip.MS, as my primary for business.
You can add "sub accounts" and give them ext numbers.
Sub accounts can call each other free if your register all the sub accounts to the exact same server.

I also have Call Centric but I am not using sub accounts on that platform.
The option is there for me to add them.
I think they use the same server/address for all.

In the later 2 case's you need to at least have a DID.
