TN2401 Announcement Pack, how many simultaneous calls can hear an announcement

Hello
My boss asked that I research the Avaya TN2501 circuit pack. What we need to know is as follows. I have an announcement recorded on the TN2501 pack. Let's call it announcement 23650. It is associated with VDN extension 0 (Zero) for the operators. The question is if I get 4000 simultaneous calls will all 4000 callers get to hear the announcement or is the TN2501 only capable of certain number of callers at one time. 32 ports - 1 for record, 31 for playing announcements. Things like hold music can be on a loop that people are bridged on to.

4000 simultaneous calls would be serviced across many port networks, with none taking more than 242 calls at a time. Up to all 242 hearing music on a loop would use 1 play port.

List measurement announcement tells you a bit more about your usage to decide if you need to tinker with it. A media server on R7 instead of TN2501 cards would make life easier with its capacity increases (basically limited based on it's # of DSPs and compute)

I wouldn't recommend a media server. The cost is ridiculously high. The licensing alone for 320 ports will exceed the cost of a fully loaded G450. The only time I recommend a media server is in a customer data center when a customer is in a VMware environment, wants to be able to move the system (such as with site recovery manager) and doesn't care about the cost.

With 4000 users getting announcements you should have the announcements in an audio group spread across multiple VAL or MG announcement boards. There are 512 timeslots per cabinet/gateway with 484 usable (others are used for system functions) so full duplex gives you the 242 available conversations Kyle noted. Depending on your trunk and phone types you may have additional restrictions on the number calls in a specific gateway hearing announcements.

In the G450 1.x, insert the 256 MB RAM card provided in the kit into the second

9. The G430 is equipped with 20 channels on the motherboard. There is an option
   to add a MP10 to increase the channel allotment by 10, or a MP20 to increase
   the channel allotment by 20, or a MP80 to increase the channel allotment by
   80. The maximum G430 channel allotment with the 20 channels on the
   motherboard and 80 channels on the optional MP80 is 100.
