Add Additional Extensions For MWI But Only Get The Main Extension's Greeting

We are trying to set up some general mailboxes that would light the MWI on multiple phones But when the mailbox is reached it prompts you with the message "I have found 2 matches for [username] Press 1 for....".

I would like the call to just go straight to the main mailbox number's greeting, but light multiple sets MWI after a greeting is left. I know on the CallPilot you could set the additional MWI DN's in a mailbox, but on AAM there is no field that I can see for entering additional MWI extensions, just the Additional Extensions field which when used appears to invoke the above message.

Is there a simple way to set this up?

This feature is not supported on AAM. There has been a lot of GRIP requests to Avaya for this feature to be added but no definite answer when.

I believe you can just build a regular mailbox and on the station form enter the mwi extension on page 1

So you added a secondary number but when that number covers to AAM it plays "I have found 2 matches for [username] Press 1 for....".

That means you have something else going on. Like duplicate numbers somewhere. You will never get it to light the light on more than one station but you can setup MWI buttons on other sets

yes program button as an auto message wait button as well

I just tested this and yes on the station form you can assign more than 1 extension for the message waiting light, we are on cm 6.3 with aam so you can do this

Yes. I can assign more than one extension to a mailbox and that does work, as long as those additional extensions are not mailboxes themselves too. If they are, then when you dial the additional extensions it plays the above referenced message.

And since we use this AAM with both our CM and our CS1K systems I cannot program an auto message wait button on the blue sets.

It may not help at all but you can set the mailbox to send a SMS or email to a group that would then be notified that way instead

Ken,

That is the way we had decided to do it (via email and using distribution list email addresses) if there was no positive response to this thread.

Thanks all for the info. I hope Avaya inserts the functionality into AAM in a future version. We have found the feature very handy in CallPilot, but since that is MS Server 2003 based we need to decommission it.
