Hello, does anyone know how we can get a different voice rather then Microsoft Anna for the Text-to-Speech within Voicemail pro 9.0? This is on windows server 2003 - and the only TTS option it shows in control panel is ANNA. Is there any free TTS engines out there that are good, and will they work with Voicemail pro?

Thanks,

I found the DVD on the support website - and has 2 download options:

IP Office 9.0 General Availability - Text-to-Speech for IP Office Server Edition and Applications Server
or
IP Office 9.0 General Availability - Text-to-Speech for IP Office UCM

We are not using Server edition or a UCM module? Just standard vmpro 9.0.8 - which download would I choose?

None, both are for Linux. When you buy a TTS license you can order the Windows TTS DVD.

Thanks intrigrant.. We already have the VMPRO TTS (Scansoft) license... Is there a place online I can download the windows dvd?

Thanks,

It is not available for download on PLDS so contact your distributor.

I paid something like $25 for it from GeminiComputers.
It only works, so far, on windows XP. I cannot get it to work on windows 7. I haven't tried a server install yet, likely will on a virtual machine at some point. I'm sure it works fine on 2003 though.

It did work on Win7 for me, never tested it on 8, 8.1 or 10

I just ordered if from our distributor for a whopping $10.58. Anyone who has used it - how is the voice engine and voices sound? I'm hoping a heck of a lot better than the robotic 'Microsoft Anna'.

Is is not bad, better a MS Anna I would say but we use another language here thus other voices as well.
It will never be like a real human voice though unless you can spend about $ 80.000 for a decent voice processor machine, then you have voice recognition as well.

Well, I got the Avaya TTS dvd's today, and installed them on our VM Pro server. The US English voice is came with was RealSpeak - American English US Donna, which is much better than MS Anna. However, does anyone know if the TTS DVD's come with any other US English voices? When I looked through all the directories under the US English folder on the dvd, all I could see was Donna, so im assuming this is the only included one?

Thanks,

What is wrong with Donna?

That is the only US female voice available in the DVD set
