Hey All,

We are working on converting the BCM450 chassis to a UCx Digital Gateway.

The plan is to provide an SSD to replace the 3.5 inch Hard Disk Drive. Current Specifications for this SSD: Enterprise Grade (Intel) 120GB, 2.5 inch Form Factor. The SSD will will be mounted in a 2.5 to 3.5 inch HDD adapter ready for installation.

Simple 5 minute (or faster) replacement: Power off the BCM450 system. Remove the Hard Drive Caddy, Remove the four screws securing the existing Hard drive. Replace the HDD with the UCx Digital Gateway SSD. Secure the SSD with the Four screws removed in step 2. Slide the Caddy with the UCx SSD back into the BCM450 chassis. Power up the system. Done.

It will operate just like the current UCx Digital Gateway. Same GUI, same licensing policy. And just like the current UCX/BCM50 conversion, if you want to go back to the BCM450 software, just replace the SSD with the HDD previously removed and your back in the BCM environment.

We will support any BFT hardware level and we will support a BCM400/450 upgrade (BCM400 with a BCM450 BFT installed)!

Be aware that the 4 analog ports that existed on the current UCx DG (BCM50 hardware) DO NOT exist on this version of hardware. The ports simply do not exist on this hardware platform, as most of you already know.

I forgot to mention that we are looking at early Q4 2015 time-frame for release.

Will you be able to use any module in the cabinet or just the DSM?

The BCM450 with an expansion chassis supports ten DSM's.

So we will support 320 stations.

We have enabled the GASM-8 (Global Analog Station Module) for use with Analog lines. This module also operates quite nicely in an expansion chassis of our current Digital Gateway (BCM50 Form Factor).

We're all waiting patiently.......especially that law firm that just bought the UCx450.

A couple of clarifications regarding the 450 Digital Gateway if I may:

It is unlikely that we will be able to support the page output port, at least in the near future. And I honestly doubt we will get it to work unless something magical happens.

The statement I made about being able to support 320 digital stations is correct IF ALL the the DMS's are 32+ models.
