Technically they should.....I once had a 9630 working on SIP until someone donated a new IP Office for me to test with the UCx. When I plugged the SIP phone into IP Office, it erased the SIP firmware and installed H.323.
If I could get a 9611 for a reasonable price, I would try getting it working on my lab system UCx.
Thanks RLSbutton, I is see you made a youtube of it I'll take a look at that. Do you remember if you lost any of the functionality of the phone while in SIP mode.
The phone functioned exactly as an SIP phone would, except that I don't think I was able to get the MWI light working. It's been a while. If I could find a 9600 pure SIP phone again somewhere, for a good price, I would try it out again. Let me see what else I can find out.
I have a 9611 i just got but it has H323 on it do you know how to load the SIP firmware if so i'll give it a try. Not sure if it's loaded via HTTP of TFTP or some other way if anyone can give me pointers I would appreciate it.
Oh man, loading the SIP firmware is a nightmare......I wish I knew how to do it. Are there any IP Office people you can talk to? Don't dare write on their Tek Tips site asking the question....they will snap your head off. An Avaya tech will surely be able to help you load the SIP firmware.
