You need a proper cable for that, a Cisco compatible cable is to be used.

ERS 2500 switches use a straight through 9 to 9 cable, female on both ends. The ERS 3500, 4800 and VSP switches use the Cisco style console cable. 9600 8 N 1, press control Y to draw the initial logon screen.

I use the same cable that I use for DTE ports on the IPO with a gender bender on one end.

I did not know the 2500 is different, we only use the 3500 & 4800 types.

Thank you "holdmusic34" this is exactly this cable that i used for... i enter all the neccesary parameter on Putty,when i click open,switch Avaya 2526T never load.

Could i have other help please.

Reboot switch and with a putty connection open press control Y to get to log in screen.
It appears the cable I said will not work for a 25xx switch as described by Biv343 in above post for which he received a star.
