Does anyone know about how to make a postage machine work on a VOIP system? I do not want to buy a POTS line. I did get the Fax & CC machine going with an ATA. I tried a DSL media filter. No luck. Any ideas? Anyone had this problem before. It dials out, but then when it it transmits back in then it times out with some error. It works on a POTS line. Any ideas? Thanks,

Are you using SIP or H.323 trunks? What type of system?

The latest survey shows that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the population.

The original point and click interface was a Smith & Wesson.

What type of system do you have?

Do you have any analog ports on your pbx?

Is the postage machine going to connect directly to the pbx or across a voip trunk?

If you have SIP or H323 trunks that you can use. Talk to your vendor about the audiocodes mp114 fxs . That is a analog voip gateway.

It would work if you had analog station card.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Analog Station Card and Analog ISM and a phone jack and 4 or 6c silver satin flat cable.

If you are running it off of an analog line card, you may need to include FAXA in the class of service.

We are using SIP trunks remotely from our CS1000 off site. We dont want to have to keep the local shelf up for 1 analog card. How would you utilize an analog card in a VOIP application? If it was all that wouldnt everyone be doing this? Any other ideas?

You will need an Audio Codes MP114 FXS Analog over VOIP media Gateway.

Basically, Analog over IP.

Its a giant pain to set up. Good luck!

THANK YOU THANK YOU PRONEI. When we purchased the system we purchased the MP 112 FXS. I guess that is the 2 port as opposed to the 4 port. We use 1 port for the fax & the other port for the credit card machine. What we do is we unplug the RJ11 from the fax & plug it into the postage machine when we need. Except the postage transmission does not work. Where could we be going amiss with this? I originally thought it was an ATA, but it was not. Anyone have anymore ideas where I am failing here? YISH PS - They did say too that it took 10 months to get this application for the fax working. Eh....Help. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

Hmm, actually the audio codes might not work for you on a postage machine. I'm not sure what all protocols the AudioCodes support.

What protocols are the postage machine using? I doubt its T38 Fax, so in order to get something like V.38 or other standard modem protocols working would probably be much more difficult.

I had to have an Audio Codes, Nortel, and vendor (AT&T) engineer collaborate to get mine working correctly.

Search this forum. I posted a copy of my AudioCodes BOARDS.INI file
