What kind of connector do i need from our TN464GP DS1 Interface circuit pack to another device such as a fax server? Thanks for your anticipated help....

Typically you need an 25-pair amphanol cable to RJ-45. You do not need a CSU.

Is there an adapter that just pulls out the pins you need?

I've seen an 356 adapter with a CAT-5 cable plugged into the 8th port used.

On the 356 adapter there are 8 RJ-45 connectors. The CAT-5 cable gets plugged into the 8th one.

as a quick fix in the past I have cut the end off an amphenol and terminated a cat 5 lead onto pins 25 (wh/bl) and 50 (blue), wouldn't advise doing this as a permanent option though

Keeping it plug and play AND modular, the 356A connector is the way to go. It snaps onto the amp connector on the back of the carrier and breaks the 50 pin connection into 8 RJ-45's. The 8th RJ-45 contains the correct pins / pin out for a standard Rj45 to RJ45 patch cable to be used to make the DS1 connection to your fax server.

the 356a connector is the best method. A quick fix is to cut a 25 pair cable and use pair 23 and 24 for the tx/rx.

they will terminate as any t1 cable. Use pairs pins 1/2 and 4/5 on the jack/block

I use an Allen Tel AT153K-M8 & solder the 4 wires as noted in the attachment:

You can order Amphenol to RJ-45 cables from most good cable vendors. I recommend this over the 356A connector. I have not seen a real good way to secure the 356A to the switch and they can get knocked loose fairly easily. With the amphenol solution, you can use the small black straps for a secure connection.
